About Watch and Play: Octavia Red

In Watch and Play, Octavia Red is your partner, and she happens to be a well-known adult star who wants to bring that side of her life into your relationship. Her idea is to watch porn together: she guides you through a selection of scenes and either recreates what you see on screen or follows your lead.

You flip channels by pointing at the remote, and when a scene catches your eye, centering your view on the TV triggers the next event. XPlayVR uses hand tracking for interaction, so VR mode requires a Quest headset; the game also runs on a flat screen, PC or smartphone, with on-screen controls.

Our Watch and Play: Octavia Red review

6.5

out of 10

A charming movie-night premise starring Octavia Red with intuitive hand-tracked controls. Too new and too lightly detailed to rank highly yet.

Pros

  • Clever channel-surfing scene selection
  • Controller-free play on Quest
  • Works without a headset too

Cons

  • Scene count not specified
  • Very few ratings so far
  • Simple interaction

Watch and Play frames its scenes around a night on the couch with Octavia Red. You flip through channels by pointing at a remote, and when something on screen catches your interest, looking at it prompts her to act it out or follow your lead. The premise is playful and gives a real-performer experience some light agency.

The best part is the relationship framing. Rather than a cold menu, the channel-surfing device makes choosing a scene feel natural, and hand tracking on Quest removes controllers entirely. It also runs on a PC or phone, which makes it unusually flexible for anyone without a headset nearby.

It is a new release with very little player feedback yet: under 5,000 plays and barely a dozen likes. The interaction model is simple, and the listing does not say how many scenes are included. Paused for Pleasure, from the same studio, uses the same remote mechanic and is more explicit about positions. A fun concept that needs more content before it can be judged fully.
